24. USC
Perhaps it will help the Trojans that they are operating under the proverbial radar. Last year, they started out ranked No. 1 in the preseason AP poll but finished 7-6, their only top ranking coming in disappointment. USC is again loaded with talent on both sides of the ball, and might be deeper than a season ago. The big question is replacing quarterback Matt Barkley, who is now with Chip Kelly and the Philadelphia Eagles. Max Wittek and Cody Kessler are battling it out there. The good news is whoever wins the job will have Marqise Lee on the other end of his passes. The defense should take a step forward under new coordinator Clancy Pendergast, who had success at California with his 3-4 scheme. -- Ted Miller
