Magic extend qualifying offers to Fournier, Dedmon

The Orlando Magic have extended qualifying offers to swingman Evan Fournier and center Dewayne Dedmon, the club announced Wednesday.

Orlando owns the right to match any offer sheet they sign. Dedmon and Fournier will both become restricted free agents on July 1.

Fournier, 23, is among the best swingmen on the market. He appeared in 79 games with Orlando last season, averaging a career-high 15.4 points per game, and made 40 percent of his 3-point attempts.

Magic general manager Rob Hennigan has said that re-signing Fournier is a major priority for the club. Last week's trade of Victor Oladipo to Oklahoma City makes it seem likely that the Magic plan to make Fournier their starting shooting guard.

Dedmon played in 58 games, averaging 4.4 points and 3.9 rebounds per game.
