Super Bowl 50 had the Internet buzzing before either team even got on the scoreboard. Forget witty commercials and scandalous halftime show mishaps (s/o Janet Jackson). This year the pregame packed a punch:
The booing of Tom Brady
During a presentation honoring Super Bowl MVPs of years past, the New England QB took the field looking like his usual dashing self ... to a chorus of boos. But he didn't seem too bothered. Because he's Tom Brady and you're not.
MVP of drumming?
A big stage calls for a big-time talent. Stephen Curry did the honors of banging the #KeepPounding drum for the Carolina Panthers. Then he yelled to the crowd, picked up a basketball and drained a full-field shot through the goalpost ... just kidding, but hey, it could have happened.
Lady Gaga rocks the mic
Gaga was red hot. Literally and figuratively. She even turned the likes of Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Stone Cold Steve Austin into Little Monsters with her rendition of the national anthem.
That was solid. @ladygaga did a hell of a job. https://t.co/YZhLxpzYzr

Props to Lady Gaga. She crushed it out there. #SB50

Kevin Durant is a photographer
In one of the more unexpected sights of the pregame, the Oklahoma City Thunder star was on the field, taking pictures. Professional pictures for The Players' Tribune to be precise.
Kevin Durant just announced that he's a credentialed photographer at the Super Bowl with his work to be published via the @PlayersTribune
