Forecast: How long will Phil Jackson be with Knicks?

Year 1 of the Phil Jackson rebuild of the New York Knicks resulted in the worst season in franchise history. How will Year 2 shape up?

After striking out on the big-name free agents this summer, the Knicks signed veterans Robin Lopez and Arron Afflalo and drafted Kristaps Porzingis and Jerian Grant. Not exactly a San Antonio Spurs kind of offseason haul, although noted Knicks critic Charles Barkley is impressed.

Our ESPN Forecast panel projects these Knicks to finish 25-57, better than only the lowly Philadelphia 76ers in the East.

Clearly there is still a lot of work ahead to get the Knicks back to contender status.

So will Jackson, who will be 70 in September, stick around to fulfill his five-year contract as team president?

Our panel sure doesn't think so. We asked our voters for their best projection of Jackson's future with the Knicks, and only 3 percent predict he'll stick around to the (most likely) bitter end. According to our current forecast, expect Phil to bow out after only two more seasons in Gotham.
