The New York Knicks have agreed to a deal with Earl Clark, a source confirmed to ESPNNewYork.com on Tuesday.
The five-year veteran averaged 5.2 points in 45 games with the Cleveland Cavaliers. The 6-foot-10 forward was sent to the Philadelphia 76ers in the Spencer Hawes trade and subsequently waived.
Sources told ESPN.com that the Knicks also brought in Dahntay Jones for a first-hand look this week to assess the 33-year-old's readiness for an immediate return to the NBA.
The 10-year veteran was released by the Bulls during training camp in October and has been trying to find a new team. Jones last played for Atlanta last season after being dealt from the Mavericks to the Hawks at the trade deadline.
The Knicks are known to be in the market for defensive upgrades, and Jones has long been regarded as a pesky perimeter defender who won acclaim for that role as a teammate of Carmelo Anthony's in Denver during the Nuggets' run to the Western Conference finals in 2009.
The Knicks bought out forward Metta World Peace and point guard Beno Udrih on Monday.
