Rays starter Ramirez leaves with groin injury

CLEVELAND -- Tampa Bay Rays starter Erasmo Ramirez has left the game against the Cleveland Indians in the fourth inning with a strained right groin.

The Rays led 4-0 on Saturday night when Ramirez bent over in pain after throwing a 1-1 pitch for a ball to Francisco Lindor. Manager Kevin Cash and a trainer went to the mound to talk to Ramirez. Cash decided to pull the right-hander, who was replaced by Xavier Cedeno.

Jason Kipnis led off the inning with a single, the second hit Ramirez allowed. He didn't give up a run, struck out three and walked none in three-plus innings .

Ramirez went into the game with a 6-2 record and had won four consecutive starts.
