LEADING OFF: Rockies' Gonzalez expected to return to lineup

A look at what's happening around spring training in Florida and Arizona on Monday:

---

READY TO GO

Rockies outfielder Carlos Gonzalez expects to return to the lineup Monday after sitting out two days. After leaving Friday night's game against San Diego with pain in his surgically repaired left knee and missing Saturday's game against the Chicago Cubs, Gonzalez declared he was pain-free Sunday morning. He was little disappointed he wasn't in the lineup, but attributed that decision to trainer Keith Dugger. "I'm not going to go against him because it's spring training. ... But (Monday) I'll probably be in there."

COMING BACK

Nationals third baseman Ryan Zimmerman is expected to return to the lineup for the first time since injuring his back/shoulder while diving for a ball on Friday. Zimmerman is scheduled to play the next three games.

ON THE MEND

White Sox right-hander Chris Sale, set to start the season on the disabled list with an evulsion fracture in his right foot, will throw a bullpen session Monday. He's scheduled to pitch simulated games Wednesday and Sunday.

FUTURE STAR

Touted Orioles prospect Zach Davies is scheduled to start against the Rays in Port Charlotte. The right-hander struck out one in one inning in his lone spring appearance, also against Tampa Bay, on March 5.

FINAL AUDITION

Mike Foltynewicz, trying to win a spot in Atlanta's rotation, will make his final start of the spring against Detroit. Foltynewicz, acquired in the January trade that sent Evan Gattis to Houston, is 0-2 with a 7.04 ERA while giving up 10 runs -- six earned -- and 15 hits in 7.2 innings spanning four starts.
