Soriano-138 mil vs Soler- $30 (prolly more) but cubs with this deal can pay hopefully more (that would mean he's legit) if not than we arnt committed for all that $$$ like soriano. Think before you post..

Why not remember the DLee or ARam trades? They're trying to build a solid team under new management. Give Epstein & Hoyer a few years before comparing their moves to Henry's.

Awesome signing, they are paying him like a backup infeilder. This is a big move for them, i dont care how many games they lose this year or next they are on the right path. Get rid of Garza and Dempster for more young players then hit the free agent market in two-three years and we will be looking at a top three MLB team for a decade.

Yeah but Theo can cut that quick by signing him to a new better deal at the first sign of greatness. Kind of like the Cargo and Tulo deals. Yet its a lot of money but those are 20mil per guys. Not saying Soler will be but the Cubs can lock him into a 5 yr at 5per after his rookie year.

He won't play under this contract for the 9 years. He's sure to opt out if he has any kind of sucess.

Can't wait for this buster to make his debut. I wish they signed him for like 10 mil a year. 3 mil is cheap.

Soler power, very nice

The arbitration opt-out isn't exactly useful for the Cubs. If he's good he becomes a huge money free agent, if he sucks he's another money drain. Good luck with that.

Remember what the Cubs did with the two best pitching prospects in baseball? I think their names were Kerry Wood and Mark Prior...

I believe they made it to the NLCS with them. Bartman should remember that.

Just keeping things in perspective. There have been many times when the Cubs have had the "best prospects in baseball"

Do you realize how many times in my life the Cubs have gotten some prospect or made some trade and all their fans talk about is how "THIS is the guy" or how bright their future looks etc. You cubs fans need to get over yourself, a couple centuries from now you might figure it out, but not anytime soon

Hey Bartman lover, just let us enjoy something during this miserable season. If that means a teenage player from Cuba that we have seen only one picture of, then that's what it means.

wow, this really got the Cubs trolls agitated. I thought for sure they would have given up by now. The jealousy must be strong out there.
