How to fix the Pittsburgh Pirates?

The Pittsburgh Pirates have been one of the most disappointing teams in baseball in 2016 with a 35-39 record -- 14 games behind the NL Central-leading Chicago Cubs and five games out in the wild-card race. The media and fans are already calling for them to be “sellers” and hoping they start trading off some of their most valuable assets like closer Mark Melancon and starting pitcher Francisco Liriano. However, I say put the brakes on, have some patience with this team and wait until the last week of July before deciding to give up on the season. This team is certainly underachieving in the win-loss record, but identifying the reasons why is extremely important before determining the next course of action for the front office.
