Mets move into second-place tie

NEW YORK -- On the day the Atlanta Braves fired general manager Frank Wren, they also suffered a 1-0 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates on Monday.

That allowed the Mets to move even with the Braves for second place in the NL East at 76-80. Six games remain.

The Braves have lost four straight and are an MLB-worst 4-15 in September.

The Mets had not been in second place since April 29, when they were 15-11.
