Sources: Knicks meeting with Brewer, Williams

The New York Knicks are meeting with free agents Corey Brewer and Derrick Williams on Friday in Los Angeles, sources tell ESPN’s Chris Broussard.

Brewer, a 6-foot-8 small forward, later agreed to a three-year contract with the Houston Rockets. Williams, a 6-foot-9 power forward, is still under consideration for the Knicks.

Williams, the No. 2 pick in the 2011 NBA draft, averaged 8.3 points and 2.7 rebounds per game in a reserve role for the Sacramento Kings.

New York has already agreed to terms with shooting guard Arron Afflalo, and the club has an agreement in place with center Robin Lopez.

Afflalo agreed to a two-year, $12 million contract. Lopez agreed to a a four-year, $54 million pact. Lopez's agreement is contingent on free agent center DeAndre Jordan agreeing to terms with a team other than New York.

With Lopez and Afflalo on the books, the Knicks have approximately $7 million left for next season under the cap.

Williams, who made $6.3 million dollars last season, could help round out a Knicks team that had just six players under contract entering free agency.

New York, according to sources, has also shown interest in Houston’s K.J. McDaniels, a restricted free agent, and veteran big man Kendrick Perkins, sources told ESPN’s Royce Young. The Knicks will also have the $2.8 million room exception to use this summer.
