NBA Rumor Central: Wizards FAs who might return

The Washington Wizards will enter the summer with eight players in the free-agent market and that will likely increase to 10. The current free agents include: Bradley Beal (restricted), Alan Anderson, Jared Dudley, J.J. Hickson, Nene Hilario, Ramon Sessions, Garrett Temple and Marcus Thornton.

Beal will definitely re-sign with the Wizards and J. Michael of CSN Mid-Atlantic speculates Anderson, Dudley and Temple "are strong candidates to return" next season. Of that trio, Dudley may draw the most interest from other NBA teams as he can play both forward positions and brings a strong veteran voice to a locker room. Anderson missed most of his first season with the Wizards due to an injury, so his free-agent market is low. Temple is a nice player, but he's just average, so he likely won't get too many calls from other teams.

Two more players will likely join the free-agent market as the Wizards are expected to waive forward Drew Gooden and guard Jarell Eddie before July 15, so their 2016-17 salaries won't be guaranteed.

Gooden is on the books for $3.54 million next season, which is too much for a backup who made just 30 appearances and averaged 10.2 minutes, 2.7 points and 2.8 rebounds.

Eddie has a cap number of $980,431, which isn't that much, but waiving him will give Washington a bit more salary-cap room and they can still bring him back after other free agents are signed.

The Wizards could have between $20 million to $29 million in salary-cap room beginning July 1.
