Report: McCollum tipped for breakout season

The Portland Trail Blazers have gone into a rebuilding-mode as four starters from last season are gone via free agency and a trade. That means plenty of time on the floor for a bunch young players and guard CJ McCollum may be the best of the lot this season. From Joe Freeman of The Oregonian:

"It's all about developing the young talent for the future and seeing which guys will 'pop.' I think CJ is primed for a big season. I think Meyers will take another step forward. And I'm intrigued by the potential of Noah Vonleh. Summer League means very little in the grand scheme of things, but he was way better than I expected in Las Vegas. He has some incredible skills in a big body. I'm also curious about Aminu: How important is his defensive versatility and how much can he give the Blazers on offense? Don't know if I really answered your question ... if I had to pick one player, I'd go with CJ"

The Blazer selected McCollum with the 10th pick in the 2013 NBA draft. The team needs McCollum to stay healthy as he played in just 38 games in 2013-14 and 62 last season due to injuries.
