Report: Age is once again a concern for Detroit

The Detroit Pistons will once again boast one of the youngest rosters in the NBA this season. The average age of Detroit's projected starters will be 24.6 years on opening night, while its five key reserves will have an average age of 26.2 years.

With so much youth on the roster, head coach Stan Van Gundy has his worries. However, Van Gundy is confident that despite their age, the Pistons were able to improve as a team this offseason, writes Vince Ellis of The Detroit Free Press:

"The Pistons' projected playing rotation has only one player 30 years or older (backup power forward Anthony Tolliver). And president/coach Stan Van Gundy admits that it’s a small area of concern. 'I think, in a perfect world, we’d sprinkle in a couple more veterans to where we are,' Van Gundy said recently ... 'It’s a really, really young team, but I think the things that we’ve wanted to add, in terms of toughness, defense, shooting … I think we’ve been able to improve in all of those areas,'"
