Report: Analytics guru helping Pistons with roster moves

The Detroit Pistons, like all NBA teams, use some form of analytics to help them make roster moves. A company in Chicago has been hired by basketball operations to help them get through all the statistics. From Vince Ellis of the Detroit Free Press:

"Aaron Wolf, 34, is a partner with Chicago-based data science and design firm Datascope Analytics. The company has signed an agreement through August 2016 to 'integrate a data analytics approach that helps streamline the decision-making process for the front office and coaching staff.' At least that's what the release says. But what does it mean? In a nutshell, Wolf, who estimates he spends 25% of his work time on Pistons projects, helps the organization take reams of scouting and advanced stat data and use it to design infographics where the information is displayed in an easy-to-understand format."
