Monday's Jazz Links: Looking for a hidden gem

Florida’s Finney-Smith hangs hat on defensive ability in workout: Dorian Finney-Smith probably won't hear his named called in the first round of June's NBA draft. And there's a slight chance he won't hear his named called at all, depending on what teams do in the second round and how many pick foreign players just to stash them overseas. At the same time, Finney-Smith has a skill that most of the teams in the league can use: He's a very good perimeter defender with size. -- The Salt Lake Tribune

Villanova’s Ryan Arcidiacono works out for team: There's a kid with a basketball in a driveway right now counting down the seconds left in an imaginary game. Ryan Arcidiacono knows exactly how that scenario plays out. "If you asked 100 random kids out in Utah, I don't think any of them would say they're practicing passing up the game-winning shot," Arcidiacono said Saturday after working out for the Utah Jazz. "I never did in my entire life." -- The Salt Lake Tribune

Utah Jazz continue process of finding hidden gems — like Rudy Gobert: In their most recent player pre-draft workout, the Utah Jazz had a couple of guys whose names could be called in the second round of the June 23 NBA draft. For the most part, though, the Jazz are hosting tryouts — which isn't inexpensive, considering the cost of flights, hotels and food — for dozens and dozens of players who will never even step foot onto an NBA court in their basketball careers. -- Deseret News
