Quite an assist-fest in Milwaukee

The Boston Celtics and the Milwaukee Bucks, both headed to the playoffs, put on a passing clinic yesterday, as Boston took a 105-100 decision. The Celtics were credited with an assist on 37 of their 42 field goals, while the Bucks received such credit on 35 of their 41 field goals. All told, assists were credited on 86.7 percent of field goals—the highest such rate in an NBA game in more than 11 years, since the Utah Jazz and Portland Trail Blazers were credited with assists on 53 of 61 field goals (86.9 percent) in a game at Portland on March 6, 2004, the Elias Sports Bureau notes.

The Celtics finished the season by winning their last six games, their longest end-of-season winning streak since an eight-game run in the spring of 1992.
