          With Max Scherzer off the board, all eyes now turn to the race to land James Shields, which almost assuredly will be the last big "lottery" of the offseason. The Miami Marlins "continue to be involved and are closely monitoring" the status of Shields, a source tells Jim Bowden of ESPN.com.
