Soccer-Recreativo coach Marcelino to leave at end of season

MADRID, May 29 - Recreativo Huelva coach Marcelino
said on Tuesday he will leave the club at the end of the season
after two successful years at the helm.

"Everything in life has a beginning and an end, and this is
the moment to end my time at Recre," Marcelino told a news
conference.

"I am not leaving for any non-sports related, or economic
reason. It is a decision we took some time ago. I would like to
thank the club for the freedom and support they have always
given me, particularly in difficult moments."

The 41-year-old said he did not have another job lined up,
but has been linked with moves to Getafe, Real Betis and
Athletic Bilbao.

He led Recre to promotion last season and against most
predictions steered them to the verge of the UEFA Cup places
with an eye-catching brand of attacking football.

With two games left in the Primera Liga, Recre are ninth in
the table and safe from relegation.

The modest Andalucian club have made it to the top flight
twice before and both times returned the following year.
