Burman busy with basketball coach search

CASPER, Wyo. -- Wyoming athletic director Tom Burman is busy
"getting on planes and talking to people" in his search for a new
basketball coach, UW spokesman Kevin McKinney says.

"He's been out talking to people personally himself," McKinney
said. "And he still has the same timetable."

Burman fired Steve McClain on Monday, citing reasons ranging
from McClain's losses to ticket sales to players' academics.

McKinney said Burman wouldn't be revealing any candidates. But
he said Burman planned to stick to his schedule of hiring a coach
within a couple weeks.

McClain was coach at Wyoming for nine seasons, compiling an
overall record of 157-115, including 67-63 in league play over one
season in the Western Athletic Conference and eight in the Mountain
West Conference.

This past season, the Cowboys were 17-15 overall and 7-9 in the
Mountain West.
