Alpine skiing-Goetschl wins downhill for 41st World Cup victory

ALTENMARKT, Austria, Jan 13 (Reuters ) - Austria's Renate
Goetschl won a downhill race on Saturday for her 41st victory in
the Alpine ski World Cup.

The 31-year-old former overall cup champion swept down the
wind-blown Zauchensee course in one minute 19.32 seconds, 0.23
ahead of Swiss Dominique Gisin who celebrated a career-best
second place.

Gisin, wearing bib number one, was the only woman to ski the
course on Friday before the race was postponed for 24 hours
because of high winds.

American Julia Mancuso was third, 0.07 seconds further back,
and her team mate Lindsey Kildow just held on to the lead in the
downhill standings despite crashing out.
