Marlins agree to deal with Rodriguez

MIAMI -- Reliever Felix Rodriguez agreed Friday to a minor-league contract Friday with the Florida Marlins, who invited him to spring training.

Rodriguez, a 34-year-old right-hander, went 1-1 with a 7.67 ERA in 29 1/3 innings with Washington last season and sat out more than three months with a sore shoulder. He has pitched for six others teams and has a career ERA of 3.71 since making his big-league debut in 1995.

The Marlins are hoping the acquisition strengthens a bullpen that was the team's biggest weakness last season.
