MONROE, La. -- RoShon Jacobs scored 18 points to help lead
Louisiana-Monroe to a 80-75 victory over Texas St. Thursday night. James Perkins added 13 points for the Indians (7-11, 3-3
Southland), Gary Robinson had 12 and Adrian Harper finished with
10. Charles Dotson led the Bobcats (2-14, 0-5) with 24 points.
Brandon Bush added 13 points, Antwoine Blanchard had 11 and Trevor
Cook had 10. After leading 41-30 at the half, the Indians pulled ahead by as
many as 20 points, 52-32, early in the second. Louisiana-Monroe
opened the half with an 11-2 run to establish the largest margin of
the game, after junior RoShon Jacobs scored four consecutive points
for the Indians. With 25 seconds remaining, though, the Bobcats came within two
of tying it at 77-75. Despite nearly blowing the 20-point second
half margin, Perkins iced the game with less than five seconds
remaining with a pair of free throws.
