Towson 99, James Madison 84

HARRISONBURG, Va. (AP) -- Gary Neal scored 40 points and Lawrence
Hamm led a 12-0 run midway through the second half as hot-shooting
Towson defeated James Madison 99-84 Saturday night.

The Tigers (6-7, 2-2 Colonial Athletic Association) shot 63
percent from the field. Neal was 13-of-21 and Hamm, who scored 29
points, was 12-of-14.

Towson led 46-45 at the break, and the teams traded baskets for
the first eight minutes of the second half. James Madison (3-9,
0-4) took a 63-62 lead on Ray Barbosa's 3-pointer with 11:32 left,
but Neal hit a 3 to start a 12-0 run that included a dunk and a
three-point play by Hamm.

Another Barbosa 3 cut the Tigers' lead to 78-71 with 6:29 left,
but the Dukes could get no closer as Neal hit a jumper and a pair
of free throws during a 10-0 run over the next three minutes.

Barbosa scored 28 points on 10-of-21 shooting. Juwann James
added 19 and Daniel Freeman 14 for the Dukes, who shot only 44
percent and were outscored 24-9 from the free-throw line.

Dennard Abraham added 11 points for Towson.
