Fordham fires football coach Foley

NEW YORK -- Fordham football coach Ed Foley resigned Monday
after the Rams finished 2-9 in his second season with the Division
I-AA program.

Foley succeeded Dave Clawson after working as offensive
coordinator and line coach for the Rams for five years. Foley
oversaw an offense that set numerous school records and helped the
Rams win the Patriot League and reach the I-AA playoffs in 2002.

Clawson left after the 2003 season to become coach at Richmond
and Foley was promoted to head coach.

Fordham went 5-6 in Foley's first season.
