Soccer-Milan sign midfielder Dhorasoo from Lyon

MILAN, May 4 - Italian champions AC Milan have
signed midfielder Vikash Dhorasoo from Olympique Lyon on a
two-year contract, the Serie A club said on Tuesday.

Dhorasoo, who has two French caps, joins Milan just three
days after they clinched their 17th Italian title with a 1-0 win
over AS Roma on Sunday.

The 30-year-old was voted the French champions' best player
last season, but this term has endured some difficulties at Lyon.

He was sidelined for most of the winter and only earned his
place back in the team after Mali's Mahammadou Diarra left to
play in the African Nations Cup.

Dhorasoo signed for Lyon in 1998 from Le Havre and spent a
season on loan at Girondins Bordeaux in 2001-2002.

He is likely to face a tough fight for a place in the Milan
midfield currently occupied by Italy internationals Andrea Pirlo
and Gennaro Gattuso and Dutchman Clarence Seedorf.

Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani recently promised to
bring in two big name players during the close season with
Lazio's Dutch defender Jaap Stam expected to be one arrival.
