DePaul 70, South Florida 54

ROSEMONT, Ill. (AP) -- Sammy Mejia scored 26 points to lead DePaul to a 70-54 win over the University of South Florida on Saturday.

The Blue Demons (18-12, 9-7 Big East) head into next week's Big East tournament having won five of the last six games. DePaul entered Saturday as the No. 8 seed, with pairings for the 12-team tournament scheduled to be released on Sunday.

Mejia was 9-of-13 from the field, including 3-of-4 from 3-point range. Draelon Burns added 11 points.

The season sweep of the South Florida (12-19, 3-13) gave DePaul a 13-2 record at Allstate Arena this year, the Blue Demons' best home campaign in 15 years.

South Florida, which did not qualify for the conference tournament, ended its season on a seven-game losing streak.

Kentrell Gransberry scored 26 points and matched an arena record with 23 rebounds, getting 13 on the offensive glass for the Bulls.

DePaul had a 49-31 lead early in the second half, but went nearly five minutes without a field goal. The Bulls pulled to 62-52 with 2:47 to play, but DePaul closed out the game with an 8-0 run.

South Florida trailed 36-25 at intermission, kept close by Gransberry, who scored seven of his nine first-half points in the final 4:18 of the period.
