Manu Lecomte to transfer from Miami, has two years of eligibility left

Miami sophomore Manu Lecomte is leaving the program and will transfer.

Lecomte, a 5-foot-11 point guard from Belgium, will have two years of eligibility remaining. Freshman guard Deandre Burnett, who averaged 7.0 points in 28 games, also is transferring from the school.

"We thank both Manu and Deandre for their contributions to the Miami basketball program for the past two seasons," coach Jim Larranaga said in a statement. "We wish them the best in their future."

He started 23 games this past season for Miami, averaging 7.9 points and shooting 45.6 percent from 3-point range. Lecomte was inconsistent during ACC play but averaged 17.5 points in the first two games of the NIT.

Even with the loss of Lecomte, Miami is expected to bring back nearly every player of note from a team that won 25 games and advanced to the NIT championship game before falling to Stanford in overtime.

ESPN 100 recruit Anthony Lawrence Jr. will also help the Hurricanes in 2015-16.
