WNBA FINALS
The Lynx went 2-0 against the Fever in the regular season, winning 66-64 on the road on Sept. 14 and 86-79 at home three days later. Indiana's Tamika Catchings posted double-doubles in both meetings, while Maya Moore notched 29 points in the Sept. 17 contest. Fever guard Briann January, who averaged 10 points in the regular season, increased her average to 15 ppg against Minnesota.
WNBA PLAYOFF SCHEDULE
The best-of-five WNBA Finals are a 2-2-1 format, with Minnesota hosting Games 1 and 2.
WEST: (1) MINNESOTA LYNX VS. (2) LOS ANGELES SPARKS
The Lynx and Sparks split their four regular-season games, with each team winning on its home court. The Lynx averaged 86 ppg in the regular season; the Sparks averaged 84. But the scores of three of their meetings reached into the 90s. In their most recent game, L.A. won 92-76 on Sept. 20.
EAST: (1) CONNECTICUT SUN VS. (2) INDIANA FEVER
The Sun went 3-1 against the Fever in the regular season. The teams met just once after the Olympic break, with Connecticut winning 73-67 on Sept. 19. The Sun scored an 89-81 victory over the Fever in Indiana back on June 8.
EAST: (1) CONNECTICUT SUN VS. (4) NEW YORK LIBERTY
The Sun went 4-1 against the Liberty in the regular season. Tina Charles, Connecticut's leading scorer, averaged nearly 22 points in the victories. She scored only four points in New York's lone win, 79-66, on Aug. 16, the Sun's first game after the Olympic break.
WEST: (1) MINNESOTA LYNX VS. (4) SEATTLE STORM
The Lynx went 3-1 against the Storm in the regular season. Three of the games in the series were played prior to the Olympics, and the teams haven't played since Aug. 21. Minnesota's 62 points in its lone loss to Seattle, on June 17 at KeyArena, were the Lynx's season low and marked Minnesota's first loss of the season after a 10-0 start. A different player led the Lynx in scoring in all three wins.
EAST: (2) INDIANA FEVER VS. (3) ATLANTA DREAM
The Fever had a slight edge in the regular season, going 3-2 in the series. Each team won twice on its home court; Indiana also won in Atlanta on May 27. Atlanta has reached the WNBA Finals each of the past two seasons.
WEST: (2) LOS ANGELES SPARKS VS. (3) SAN ANTONIO SILVER STARS
The Silver Stars got the best of the Sparks in their first three meetings of the season, which were each played in June. San Antonio lost 101-77 when the teams last met, on Aug. 23. The Sparks
are 9-4 since the Olympic break; San Antonio has lost seven games since play resumed.
