Alecia Sutton Celebrates 16th Birthday By Giving Verbal To Texas

Alecia Sutton celebrated her 16th birthday on Wednesday by giving a verbal commitment to play women's basketball for the Texas Longhorns.

Sutton is a 5-foot-8 point guard for Parkway North (St. Louis, Missouri) and the No. 11 prospect in the espnW HoopGurlz Super 60 for the 2016 class.

"I clicked with the players and the coaching staff and that solidified my decision," said Sutton, who also considered Tennessee, UCLA, Nebraska and Louisville.

Texas, which is 8-0 and ranked third in the nation, pulled the No. 5 recruiting class in the nation in 2015, getting signatures from No. 6 Lashann Higgs, No. 8 Jordan Hosey and No. 77 Christina Aborowa.

In addition, coach Karen Aston has verbals from Deauzya Richards, the No. 9 prospect in the 2017 class, and Charli Collier, one of the most promising players in the 2018 freshman class.
