In that area there is a $60 MILLION high school football stadium. Those people don't care much about baseball. Football is texass' religion and they only have one religion.

Hey Nick Harris, you're right. I can't tell you one person in Allen who isn't a ranger fan b/c...oh yeah, I don't know anyone in allen. You say you love all of your sports, explain off-side in hockey (I'm sure that you're a star's fan, since you love EVERY sport like a religion). I'm so very, very tired of texass hubris. If you love your state so much, why don't some of you who have, help some that don't and use your W. Bush inflated wealth to drag your education from barely better than Mississippi?

I live in Allen, TX where the $sixty million stadium is and u cant tell me one person in Allen who doesn't have a passion for the Rangers. So if u don't live in DFW, don't judge, because we love every sport like a religion. In fact we had a rally the first year the rangers won the alcs and it was a ghosttown except main street.

I do see Dallas-Forth Worth as a baseball town to a certain degree, even though football does reign supreme there....and all throughout Texas. The Rangers have always been good as far as getting folks in the stands, especially back when Nolan Ryan played for them. It still amazes me knowing that dude threw his 7th (Final) no-hitter at the age of 44 years back in 1991.

It's not. Dallas and Pittsburgh, among other cities, are football towns. Their hockey, baseball and basketball "fans" are merely a fairweather contingent that'll claim allegiance if/when the team is winning. Or do we forget the Mavs' attendance or rather lack thereof in the 90s, or the Rangers/Penguins attendance of rather lack thereof until the middle/latter portion of the last decade, or the Pirates attendance since 1993?

Wasn't he playing there for a few years? You can tell the true fans by the electricity in the building. Electricity is rare in baseball stadiums.

It's not even close to being a baseball town In fact with the exception of a couple lucky years they couldn't even spell rangers there

Dallas is a true football city, with basketball coming in second. Baseball sucks anyways.

Been a die hard Ranger fan my entire life. While what Hamilton says has some truth to it, you can hardly expect there to be plenty of other fans like myself to be die hards when the Rangers had never won a play off series until recently, and the Cowboys have racked up championships. I have sat through plenty of Rangers games where the stadium was half full. However, as soon as the team started winning you hear a lot more about them than the Cowboys. Kids of this generation are more fond of the Rangers. In the long run, this will turn the metroplex into more of a baseball town. And lastly, Hamilton is still mad that he got booed out of town. Red Sox, Yankees and all other huge fan bases often boo players for not producing, not to mention lack of effort. Can't wait to boo his a$$ off when the Angels come to town.
