Neil Huntington is doing his job again: getting rid of some of the Pirates best players. Good job. The Pirates suck even more now.

I'm sick of getting prospects! How about getting a good quality MAJOR LEAGUE PLAYER instead of some minor leaguers! So u can pay 7 million a year to liriano who had an era over 5 but u can't pay one of the best closers in the game? $@%!$@% disgraceful!

Trading closers for prospects is a good way to add talent to your team. The A's hit Josh reddick for Andrew Baily and he added some pop and good defense to the A's for a closer.

Looks like the pirates are looking to keep that loosing season record alive

Boston is stupid for getting rid of Jerry Sands. Hope they finish last.

Should trade him and Pedro Alvarez and some other minor leaguers for jacoby ellsbury and Daniel bard

He's way to injury prone and would have lefty pop in the lineup for when Ortiz retires

Not likely. Ellsbury alone would require more then that.

This is a terrible idea. The last thing the pirates need are more minor leaguers. What they should get are MLB-ready players.

Blue jays, Rays, O's, Yankees, and Red Sox. I mean the three spot will be close between the Yankees and the O's but I do not see the Sox having a chance.

Prepare to be shocked as the Yankees will no doubt be in the top 3 in the east

Seriously why does everyone seem to favor the senior citizens in the Bronx? THEY ARE REALLY OLD. They will suffer injuries to their ancient players early and often. I am a Red Sox fan and they will be better with the changes but I would not call them a favorite in the East. If Baltimore can keep playing well they and Tampa should be the favorites. I will be shocked if the clowns in the Bronx finish in the top 3. Toronto will still be good as well so good luck with a team of 35+ year olds in the Bronx.

The Jays have the rotation to compete in the East. Boston has cleaned house and will have a much better clubhouse but they have a lot of questions to answer. Yanks are the team to beat until someone knocks them off that perch but age is catching up with that core quickly. I wouldn't be surprised to see them falter. O's haven't improved, but rather lost a few pieces. Buck will get them ready every night and continue to develop their young talent. Rays are the Rays, and will be there at the end. I'm not picking this division, too many what-ifs and not one sure thing.

The most solid team in the AL East is still the yanks hands down

A closer isn't going to bring a team to the playoffs. If thy go to the playoffs it will be because of their other pickups.

My money is on the yanks w the greatest closer in MLB history coming back healthy and with something to prove.

Typical pirates move giving away there all- star players and probably getting nothing for them.If they think Grilli is going to even come close to Hanrahan there sorely mistakenbecause Grilli is a big choker!! I'm sure McCutchen will be the next to go.....idiots

76 saves in two years means nothing if they don't make the playoffs. Watching him play though is heart wrenching, he can be lights out one day then next 3 outings struggle to get through. Not worth the money

True but he's still is netting decent prospects. Ask the A's how they feel about trading Andrew Bailey.

Trading a close when his value is highest is always a smart move. Jerry Sands has some Serious power too.

His value was highest at the allstar break last year. If they were going to move him, they should've done it then.

Typical "diehard" pirate fan. They are better without him. You must have forgot about his Aug. collapses. He was avg at best.

76 saves in 2 years is average huh? Look st the numbers before you speak. The team collapsed both times friend not just him
