That is a great story! ESPN 30/30 or E60 should do a full report, how about it ESPN? Besides Walter Payton, has there ever been a more classy guy than Curtis Martin? His HOF speech left me w/out words.

The bitterness of some people here is astounding. Congratulations to Curtis Martin, a true Hall of Fame player and my all time favorite New York Jet. Glad he's going in as a member of my favorite team. Maybe the Jets should bring him in as an inspiration to the current squad. Can't be worse than adding Tim Tebow.

Man, it's a good thing that the people on this comment board don't vote for the Hall of Fame. I love statistical analysis of sports as much as anyone, but we've sort of veered into an area where some people give no credence to anything but pure numbers. As a long suffering Jets fan, I can tell you that besides his incredibly consistent performance, he opened up our passing game every year and played on some teams where he was the clear number one weapon. Prior to Curtis joining the team we had one winning record in ten years. During his seven years, we finished with a winning record six out of seven times. Winning a Super Bowl isn't the only definition of being a winner.

Definately would've loved to have CM on my team but I really can't say he's a HOF'er. It's same way I feel about Cal Ripkin Jr.

I'll give you Cal maybe, but not CM. CM is a definite HOF. Cal's in not because he was anything special, but because he played forever. I think he's still playing. LOL!

Curtis Martin was my very first favorite Patriots player. I cried when he went to the Jets. He could of won a few Super Bowl rings if he had stayed with the Pats.

I might be insulting Curtis Martin fans, but not sure the guy is an HOFer.

He may not have been the flashiest but he had the respect of his entire team and the N.F.L. In addition, character does mean a lot and when you have people like Lawrence Taylor in the H.O.F.

Curtis understood what it meant to be a professional athlete and got the most out of that knowledge. Two teams benefited from his approach and he ended up in the HOF. It does not get better than that.

Curtis probably wanted to go in the hall as a Patriot where he got to play in a Superbowl. Could have won 3 SB Rings too if he wasn't all about the money.

Did he graduate? He never said in his speech. If he did, that would be an even better story.

Curtis used to be my favorite RB when I was younger. He was amazing and always a class act. I'll always remember him as a Jet though. He deserves the Hall and football immortality.

Sorry but the most beloved Jet for Patriot's fans is not Curtis Martin but Mo Lewis. It's not even close.
