As long as he play within himself he will be fine. He has great talent and so do a few more porospects who are close to being CUBS. In two more years this team will be no slouches.

Million dollar question, when is Brett Jackson coming up. His OPS is off the charts and he should be up as well.

That is a very good ops with a .255 batting average. He needs to figure out how to not strike out every other at bat before he gets his chance. Vitters is closer than Jackson as of right now in my opinion.

I'd rather have him strike out than hit into a double play like Soto seems to do at every opportunity

I wouldn't say off the charts, but his offense is Adam Dunnesque in the sense that he strikes out a ton, but has a very high OPS for someone with that many strikeouts. However, the comparison ends there since Jackson has a lot less power and a lot more speed than Dunn.

"the great oracle Epstein" First the ridiculous Lake Michigan photo and now this. You guys need to stop this sad hero worship. The Cubs are truly one of the worst teams in sports.

If the Cubs are so bad, why do the Cubs have so many haters, why do so many people like you read articles regarding one of the "worst" teams in pro sports. I don't understand it, maybe it's cause nobody comments about the White Sox or maybe cause the White Sox have THE WORST fan base in pro sports, I don't know. All that i do know is that you won't EVER find me reading an article regarding the White Sox. Why do you ask? cause I'm a Cubs fan, not a Sox fan and my suggestion to all you Sox fans who hate on the Cubs....GET A LIFE!!!!!!

Padres fan. Can't believe they traded the only player who i would pay to watch hit! Rizzo missed a year, is only 22, and has great plate discipline. Like any great power hitter --- which he is destined to become --- he'll strike out some, but he looks like a superstar in the making. Only guys like A-Rod and Vlad Guerrero have excited me as much as hitters at such a young age. Pads got Cashner in return--- great arm, could be a very good pitcher if he puts everything together --- but still not worth trading Rizzo ( a guy you build a team around). Meanwhile, the Padres line drive hitting first baseman who they were so sure would play better in Petco than Rizzo is hitting .250 with zero power (2 HRs) and weak groundouts. Rizzo has a better glove, is more athletic, and has infinitely more potential to a be an impact player.

The fans booed the scorekeeper into changing his infield hit and then he takes second on a throw and gets a double. If he plays at home all the time he will break records for average!!

Official scorer at Wrigley might be the biggest "homer" in the major leagues. His rulings have consistently benefited Cubs players all season.

The E6 one should have been a hit from the start, it would have taken an excellent defensive play to get Rizzo on that one. In those cases you give the guy a hit. You give errors when a fielder misses a play they should make. The double was a bit silly, but it's easy to see why it was scored a double, rather you agree with the final ruling or not, that much must be admitted. Like justnept said, either way both balls were hit very well. It was a nice start for him no matter how you look at it, but on the flipside, it was just one game. I'd rather have a much larger sample size before I start saying definitive.

There was definitely some fishy score keeping occurring. In terms of the E6 - I'd call that a 50/50 ball that could've gone either way. It was laced, took a bad hop, and required a backhanded stab. Anyone that's ever sat in a press box knows that 50/50 balls always go to the home team. As for the double - well, that one was just absurd. Either way. The O.S. might have helped Rizzo on the stat sheet last night, but the fact is that he made really solid contact with the ball. The "E6/Single" was laced... and the "Single" was a rope. It's just one game - and if I remember, he had a hot start last year in SD - but it was a positive first game for the kid.

Everybody wants this kid to do well. No doubt. But Jon... Enough with the fawning fluff pieces that have absolutely zero info in them that hasn't been written 20 times in the last week....

The same Bob Rosenberg who generously gave Ricky Guttierez a hit on an easy roller to Kevin Orie in perhaps the most dominant game ever pitched initially thought a hard hit ball for which the shortstop had to dive was an error. With the right that players have under the new CBA to appeal official scorers' decisions, I have a hunch that this clown leads the league in having his judgment appealed.

He changed it to a hit quickly after the play was over. Rosenberg is actually one of the better official scorers in the business. You should see some of the ones that other teams have if you think Rosenberg is bad.

Get over it. The Orie play was a hit. What happened as that game progressed has nothing to do with it,.

Anthony Rizzo is a great natural talent as well as the other players on the Cubs team! This dude(Rizzo) is going to be around for a long time like Derek Jeter is with the Yankees!! I only hope and pray that the Cubs mgmt. hold on to Rizzo.
