Tennis-Davydenko comes back from the brink to reach third round

LONDON, June 28 - Sixth seed Nikolay Davydenko
made a breakthrough on Thursday to reach the third round of
Wimbledon for the first time in his career.

After failing to progress beyond the second round in five
previous visits, the Russian made it to the last 32 but he was
made to fight tooth and nail for a 3-6 5-7 7-6 6-4 6-2 win over
Australian Chris Guccione.

His reward for staging a comeback from two sets down for
only the fourth time in his career was a date with exciting
French player Gael Monfils.
