MADRID, March 20 - Valencia defender David Navarro
has been banned from playing in all competitions for seven
months after FIFA agreed to UEFA's recommendation to extend his
punishment to all domestic and international matches.
Valencia said in a statement on their Web site
(www.valenciacf.es) that FIFA had notified them of the decision
on Tuesday.
Navarro was handed the ban after running on the pitch and
punching Inter Milan midfielder Nicolas Burdisso at the end of
his side's 0-0 draw in a Champions League last 16 tie at the
Mestalla.
Valencia said they would appeal against the decision.
