Bethune-Cookman 52, Morgan State 50

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Ron Mitchell's dunk with 8.7 seconds
left to play lifted Bethune-Cookman past Morgan State in a 52-50
win Wednesday night.

Mitchell, who led the Wildcats with 11 points, took a pass in
mid-air from guard Josh Cummings and slammed it through the net.
This was the fifth win in the past seven games for Bethune-Cookman
(8-19, 6-11 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference).

The loss broke a short two-game winning streak for Morgan State
(12-16, 10-7), which got 17 points from Jamar Smith and 11 from
Ronald Timus.

Morgan State's Boubacar Coly grabbed a game-high nine rebounds.

John Anderson was the only other Wildcat in double figures.
Anderson had ten points.

Morgan State, behind Smith and Timus, had surged to a six-point
edge with 7:25 left to play. But Mitchell and Anderson led
Bethune-Cookman on a 11-6 run that tied the score at 50 with 2:16
remaining.

That's where it stayed until Mitchell's clincher.
