Blue Jackets place C Fedorov on IR

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The injury bug continues to pester
the Columbus Blue Jackets.

The Blue Jackets on Saturday placed center Sergei Fedorov on
injured reserve with an elbow injury, two days after losing two
other top contributors.

The move is retroactive to last Saturday for Fedorov, who
suffered the injury in a 5-2 loss at the San Jose Sharks that
day. Since then, Columbus has lost two of its other top
players, placing both left wing Rick Nash and defenseman Duvie
Westcott on IR on Thursday.

In 36 games in his second season with the Blue Jackets, Fedorov,
37, has collected 13 goals and 15 assists. He is tied for the
team lead in goals with Nash and ranks third in points.

In a corresponding move, Columbus recalled left wing Joakim
Lindstrom from Syracuse of the American Hockey League. The
23-year-old has appeared in four games with the Blue Jackets
this season, notching his first career goal against Minnesota on
December 29.

In 18 games with the Crunch this season, Lindstrom had six goals
and 14 points.
