Nets' Krstic undergoes successful surgery to repair torn ACL

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- New Jersey Nets center Nenad Krstic
underwent successful surgery Wednesday on the torn anterior
cruciate ligament in his left knee.

The the team said the surgery was performed by doctors David
Altcheck and Riley Williams III at the Hospital for Special Surgery
in New York.

Krstic suffered the injury in the third quarter of a game
against the Los Angeles Lakers on Dec. 22. He will miss the rest of
the season, but is expected to return by the start of training camp
before the 2007-2008 season.

The 7-foot native of Serbia averaged career highs of 16.4 points
and 6.8 rebounds in 26 games this season, his third in the NBA.
