Western Illinois 74, Culver-Stockton 48

MACOMB, Ill. (AP) -- Sammy Hunter went 5-for-8 from three-point range and finished with 22 points as Western Illinois beat Culver-Stockton 74-48 Monday night.

Louis Johnson and David Jackson added 10 points each for the Leathernecks (4-6), who shot just 39 percent in the first half, but were 55 percent from the floor after the break.

Dane Brooks led Culver-Stockton (6-10) with 15 points and a game-high 10 rebounds. Tim Parrish chipped in 11 points for the Wildcats, going just 2-for-7 from the floor but 7-for-10 from the foul line. Culver-Stockton managed just 8-for-28 shooting in the first half and went 9-for-27 in the second to finish at 31 percent for the game.

Western Illinois got 20 points from its reserves and moved the ball around better than Culver-Stockon, recording 15 assists compared with just six for the Wildcats.
