Hinrich's extension makes sense, Ford's doesn't

The Toronto Raptors solidified their backup point guard position for the next four years by signing T.J. Ford to an extension that could be worth up to $33 million. I can't wait to see who the starter is.

OK, perhaps I'm being a little harsh. But this was a classic CYA move following the trade of Charlie Villanueva for Ford this summer, and one we could see coming from a mile away: The Raptors would have to overpay Ford on an extension to justify the trade.
