Reagor out of hospital, could rejoin Colts this week

INDIANAPOLIS -- Defensive tackle Montae Reagor, injured in
an automobile accident just over a week ago, has been released from
the hospital and could rejoin the Indianapolis Colts this week.

Coach Tony Dungy said Monday he wasn't sure when Reagor would
begin practicing.

The 285-pound lineman, a starter in 45 games for the Colts the
past four seasons, underwent surgery last Wednesday to repair the
orbital bone -- the socket -- around his left eye.

"We'll have our medical meeting and know a little bit more on
how the surgery went and exactly what the prognosis is. But I know
he's feeling good and looking forward to getting back," Dungy
said.

Reagor, who had 22 tackles and one sack in the first four games
this season, was hospitalized Oct. 22 after his SUV overturned when
another car struck it while he was driving to the RCA Dome for the
Colts' game against Washington.

He was not wearing a seat belt; police said he could have
reduced the extent of his injury by wearing one. A passenger in his
car had minor bumps and bruises, and the driver of the other
vehicle was cited for failure to yield the right of way.

Dungy said Reagor was released from the hospital Sunday and
watched the Colts' 34-31 victory at Denver on television from his
home. The Colts dedicated the game to Reagor, who came to
Indianapolis from Denver as a free agent in 2003.

"It was really a special time, because we knew how much he
would have wanted to play against Denver," Dungy said. "A lot of
the guys went up to see him Thursday and Friday and he talked about
how much it would mean to him for us to come home with a win.

"He's doing very well. He's on the road to recovery and will
probably be in here before the week is out," Dungy said.

The Colts visit the AFC East-leading New England Patriots on
Sunday.
