Without Peterson, Oklahoma hosts Colorado on Saturday

NORMAN, Oklahoma - Luckily for Oklahoma, its first
opponent since losing Adrian Peterson for the season has won
just once in its past 11 games.

The 20th-ranked Sooners host lowly Colorado on Saturday in a Big
12 Conference encounter.

Last weekend, Oklahoma (4-2, 1-1 Big 12 South) cruised past Iowa
State, 34-9, as Peterson rushed for 183 yards and two
touchdowns. But the superstar junior broke his left collarbone
diving into the end zone at the end of a 53-yard run and is
expected to miss the rest of the regular season at a minimum.

Paul Thompson threw for a pair of scores for the Sooners, who
limited the Cyclones to just 238 yards and 1-of-12 third-down
conversions.

Colorado (1-6, 1-1 North) won its first game under new coach Dan
Hawkins with a surprisingly easy 30-6 home triumph over Texas
Tech last Saturday.

Bernard Jackson threw for two touchdowns and ran for another
score for the Buffaloes, whose 10-game skid had matched the
school record.

The Sooners have won four straight meetings with the Buffaloes
and are 38-16-2 all-time in the series.
