Soccer-Serbia coach Clemente offers to help ailing former club

MADRID, Sept 19 - Serbia coach Javier Clemente has
offered to help out his former club Athletic Bilbao, after they
made a shaky start to the new Primera Liga season.

Clemente, a former Spain coach, was sacked after falling out
with Bilbao president Fernando Lamikiz in July, but under new
coach Felix Sarriugarte the club are second-bottom with one
point from three games.

Fans called for Lamikiz to go after Sunday's miserable 4-1
home defeat to Atletico Madrid.

"If Lamikiz rang tomorrow I would I would have no problems
in going to tell him what the problems are, even though he got
rid of me," Clemente told radio Marca.

"If Serbia let me I would help out. Although Sarriugarte is
inexperienced he can handle it. He is calm and with the quality
in the side I am not worried that they will get relegated."

Bilbao, who along with Real Madrid and Barcelona are the
only sides never to have dropped out of the top flight in Spain,
finished 12th last season after a long fight against relegation.
