MADRID, Sept 13 - Argentine midfielder Lionel
Scaloni has agreed to join Racing Santander on a one-year
contract, the Primera Liga club said on Wednesday.
The 28-year-old, who was a member of Argentina's squad at
the World Cup finals in Germany, had negotiated a release from
his contract with Deportivo Coruna at the end of August.
Scaloni joined Depor from Estudiantes de La Plata in 1998
and was in the side that won the league in 2000 and the King's
Cup in 2002.
He dropped out of favour with coach Joaquin Caparros last
year, and played the second half of the season on loan with West
Ham United.
Racing narrowly avoided relegation last season and have lost
their opening two league games of the new campaign.
