MIAMI - Miami Dolphins guard Seth McKinney will miss
the entire 2006 season. Dolphins coach Nick Saban on Tuesday placed McKinney on injured
reserve, ending his season. McKinney underwent a cervical spine stabilization procedure
earlier in the month and was expected to be sidelined about
three months. If the Dolphins placed McKinney on the
physically-unable-to-perform list, they would have been able to
activate him on the roster between Weeks Six and Nine. McKinney, 27, was the full-time starter at center the last two
seasons, but Saban shifted him to guard and moved Rex Hadnot to
the middle before training camp. A third-round pick in 2002, McKinney started five games in his
first two seasons at center and guard before winning the center
job in 2004.
