Canizares leads Russian Open after three rounds

NAKHABINO, Russia -- Spain's Alejandro Canizares shot a
5-under-par 67 Saturday for a one-stroke lead after three rounds of
the Russian Open.

Canizares, the 23-year-old son of former Ryder Cup player
Jose-Maria Canizares, was at 16-under 200. First-round leader David
Drysdale of Scotland (69) and second-round co-leader Carlos Rodiles
of Spain (69) dropped one stroke behind to share second at 201.

Drysdale, who tied the course record at 10 under Thursday,
birdied the 10th and 12th holes Saturday to go one stroke ahead but
then bogeyed the 14th.

"I just hope that I can put one more good round together,"
Drysdale said. "That's the only way that I can look at it."

Leif Westerberg of Sweden had nine birdies in a 63, the day's
best round. He jumped from 25th place to fourth and is at 202.

The Russian Open became a full European tour event this year for
the first time in its 13 years.
