Rookie wins truck pole with record run at Lebanon

LEBANON, Tenn. -- Rookie Erik Darnell will start
from the pole in Saturday's NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Toyota
Tundra 200 after running a record qualifying lap at Nashville
Superspeedway.

It was the first career pole for the 23-year-old Darnell, who
clocked in at 162.116 mph in a Ford F-150. He broke
the previous track record held by Mike Skinner, who ran at
161.440 mph in last year's qualifying.

Darnell will be flanked on the front row by fellow rookie Chad McCumbee, who qualified at 161.990 mph in a Chevrolet Silverado.

Jack Sprague will start third in a Toyota Tundra, followed by
the Dodge Ram of Timothy Peters. Defending race winner David Reutimann qualified 15th in a Toyota and current series points
leader Todd Bodine ran 21st in a Toyota.
