ARLINGTON, Texas (Ticker) - The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim
ended their losing streak on Tuesday. They hope to help Jeff
Weaver end his on Wednesday in the finale of a three-game series
with the Texas Rangers.

On Tuesday, the Angels snapped a six-game slide with a 7-6
victory over the Rangers. Vladimir Guerrero homered to extend
his hitting streak against Texas to 41 straight games and first
baseman Kendry Morales homered in his major league debut.

Weaver (1-7, 7.30 ERA) will need help in attempting to stop a
personal five-game slide. In a 16-3 blowout loss to the Los
Angeles Dodgers on Friday, the righthander was responsible for
four runs - three earned - and 11 hits in 4 1/3 innings.

Weaver did not get a decision in his previous start this year
against Texas on April 11 in which he allowed four runs in six
innings. Weaver will have to reverse his fortune against the
Rangers, against whom he is an abysmal 1-5 with a 5.33 ERA in
eight lifetime starts.

Texas will turn to righthander Robinson Tejeda (1-1, 6.23), who
failed to earn a decision in a 5-3 setback to Houston on Friday.
Tejeda worked five innings, yielding only one run and two
hits. He struck out six but walked four.
