Phillies look for first back-to-back wins this season

ATLANTA -- The Philadelphia Phillies have something
that they can build on.

Coming off their first road victory of the season, the Phillies
try to post consecutive wins for the first time on Thursday when
they play the rubber game of their set with the Atlanta Braves.

Philadelphia recorded a 7-5 triumph over Atlanta on Wednesday as
Aaron Rowand and Mike Lieberthal each drove in two runs and Pat
Burrell hit a solo homer. Jimmy Rollins and Ryan Howard each
added a pair of hits for the Phillies, who entered hitting just
.160 (8-for-50) with runners in scoring position.

Cory Lidle allowed three runs in six innings to become the first
Philadelphia starter to record a victory, leaving Atlanta and
Kansas City as the only two teams in baseball who still have not
had a starter pick up a win.

Kyle Davies (0-0, 5.40 ERA) makes his first start against the
Phillies. The 22-year-old righthander faced them once in
relief last season, allowing three runs in one-third of an
inning to absorb the loss.

Philadelphia counters with rookie Gavin Floyd (0-1, 10.13), who
hopes to rebound from Friday's outing in which he was reached
for five runs in 2 2/3 innings of a 5-3 loss to the Los Angeles
Dodgers.

The 23-year-old righthander is 0-1 with a 12.46 ERA in four
career appearances against the Braves.
